The Next Intentional Step

Land on what matters, make a choice, take the next intentional step.

For the person behind the leader, when the pressure of leadership and the pressure of life collide.

You're the one everyone turns to.

It's after school. The kids are home, the noise has started, and your phone is still lighting up with messages from work. You've been making decisions since 6am and you haven't stopped. At the office, people are waiting on your call. At home, they're waiting on your attention. You're holding it together in both places, and somewhere in the middle of all of it, you're trying to figure out what to do next, not just today, but in a bigger sense. You're not struggling. You're just carrying a lot, and you know there has to be a clearer way through.

You don't need to overhaul everything.

You don't need a complete reset, a new system, or a different version of yourself. You need enough clarity to make a decision and take the next intentional step. Change isn't a single dramatic shift that happens all at once. It's a series of next intentional steps, each one chosen rather than reactive, each one building on the last. That's it. That's the whole philosophy.

Three steps. Repeat as needed.

Land on what matters.

In the middle of everything competing for your attention, this is about pausing long enough to identify what actually needs your focus right now. Not everything. Just the one thing that matters most in this moment.

Make a choice.

Not the perfect choice, not the final answer. Just a clear, considered decision about what you are doing next. A decision you have made on purpose, rather than one that happened by default.

Take the next intentional step, then repeat.

"Intentional" means the step is chosen, not reactive. You decided to take it. Then you do it again. Each step is its own small act of clarity, and over time, those steps add up to real change.

The First Step Challenge

This is a short, practical taste of the method, designed for someone who is already stretched. In the programme, you experience the three steps for yourself, working through a real situation from your own life, whether that's something at work, at home, or both. You walk away having taken your first intentional step, with less overwhelm and a clearer sense of what to do next. It's small enough to fit into your life as it is right now, and specific enough to actually make a difference.

About Petra

Petra Siskos is a Whole Life Leadership Coach based in Melbourne. As a single mum of two boys, she learnt early on, when her second was still a baby, that there is no real day and night, just 24 hours to get it all in. What she discovered in that season was something she has carried ever since: whatever you're doing, work or life, you do only that one thing, and you give the other its own slot. You don't split yourself. You choose where you are.

Petra brings nearly 30 years as a swim teacher alongside senior leadership experience as a COO and General Manager, and she has spent a long time thinking about what it actually means to lead well when the rest of life doesn't pause to let you.
